On behalf of the team, we would like to welcome you to the BLOS after school care centre Amaliastraat in Amsterdam! Our after school care centre can be found at the Amaliastraat in Amsterdam-West. In the same building, you will also find our day care centre.
Our after school care centre is located in an old monumental building that served as a primary school from 1841 to 1886. The large building has 8 spacious classrooms with high ceilings and large windows, which provide a healthy dose of daylight. At each group, a piece of history can be found. For example, one of the classrooms is a former gym and the steel construction, with the hooks used to hang rings, is still clearly visible.
After school, children aged 4 to 13 can relax with us but also enjoy really cool activities. When they arrive at our after school care centre, we start with a joint meal and drink. After that, we relax and chat about their day at school. Then it's time for action! We offer a packed activity program with fun, educational and challenging activities. For example, limbo dancing, relay running, dance and stop games and living memory. We have a spacious kitchen where we regularly cook and bake. Our homemade sandwiches for lunch are a favourite amongst the children. At the group for children from 7 to 13 years old, we have a Lego corner, a Playmobil corner and a reading loft.
When the weather is nice, we love to go outside. The children can enjoy playing in our large garden equipped with a sandbox and slide. We also make sure to pay attention to nature. Together with the children, our pedagogical employees plant greens and carefully monitor their growth. We regularly take a trip to one of the surrounding parks to play in the playground or play football. The afternoons will definitely fly by!
Please feel free to request a personal tour. You are most welcome!
Our after school care centre, located at the Amaliastraat in Amsterdam-West offers room for 70 children, divided into 3 groups. To provide guidance and stability, we have main group leaders for each group.
