Developing at your own pace
Besides being able to develop in a safe and loving environment, it is also important for toddlers to enjoy playing with their peers. At BLOS your child will have space and freedom to do so. Toddlers discover the world in a playful way, and we actively stimulate them using their imagination and being inquisitive. Playing is the best way for your toddler to prepare for primary school.
Through stimulating group spaces, positive attention, motivating interactions and activities, we challenge children to bring out the best in themselves every day. This way, we prepare each child for the next step. We ensure that your child can make the transition to primary school feeling good about himself, full of self-confidence.
On a regular basis, a mentor meeting takes place in which we discuss your child's development together. Do you feel the need for an extra interview during the year? Please tell us, we’re happy to schedule it for you.
A small step to primary school
For some toddlers, the transfer to primary school will be bigger than for others. With our Toddler+-program we prepare toddlers from the age of three years old for this new challenge. Our pedagogical staff members know what skills and knowledge your toddler needs to make a good transfer.
In addition to group activities, we pay a lot of individual attention to your child. We look at your child’s specific needs, whether that is extra guidance of extra challenges. At BLOS childcare we have an experienced and professional eye for your child and adapt our activities accordingly.

Playful learning at the BLOS preschool centres
At a number of locations in Utrecht, we have preschool centres, specialized in preschool education for children aged 2.5 to 4 years. Your child will spend a number of parts of the week learning and discovering at our preschool. We pay extra attention and time to, for example, language games, reading aloud, drawing, math, listening, singing and exercising. This helps to prepare your child for primary school and enables him or her to make the transfer with self-confidence. Just like primary school, BLOS preschools are closed during the holidays.
First incentives to English
In order to introduce your child to the English language, we offer the first incentives in English at a number of BLOS childcare locations. As soon as your child turns 3 years old, we spend 15 minutes per day teaching English. We this through songs, reading aloud and playing games, in which we include the following subjects: introducing yourself, greeting someone, counting to ten, colours and the days of the week. That way, your child will become familiar with the English language in a playful way.
Getting used to after school care
If your child moves on to after school care, we always make sure there is time for getting used to it. Just before your child turns 4, he or she can visit the after school care for an afternoon. With some extra guidance of course. We will make sure that the step to the after school care is as small as possible for your child.

Children's hairdresser
Is it about time your child gets a haircut? Many of our day care centres have children's hairdressers coming by every six weeks. At an attractive rate, your child can get a haircut during day care. We will send you an e-mail to inform you about this and you can make your wishes known.
Photographer
A photographer visits BLOS childcare every year. You can order extra copies of the best photo(s) of your child and/or have them printed on one of the other products. Your child's getting its photo taken is non-binding and there is no purchase obligation.
Additional childcare
Do you need extra childcare at some point? At BLOS you can request a single extra day or more. Please send in your request using the My BLOS parent portal. Whether we are able to approve your request, depends on availability at the location. Unfortunately, from October 1st of this year the possibility to offer extra days is temporarily limited.
Flexible childcare
At BLOS we also offer flexible childcare. Handy when you have irregular working hours. You can request childcare per week or per month.
Exchange days
Do you want to change one of your standard childcare days? BLOS childcare offers this service at no extra cost. Exchanges are only possible if the occupancy allows it. You can easily request an exchange day via the My BLOS parent portal. Unfortunately, from October 1st of this year the possibility to offer extra days is temporarily limited.
